Democracy, A myth for us!

Different political parties and military regimes come in power in Pakistan. They choose their own ways to define democracy. Government which comes with public’s electoral choice seems to be democratic. Practically it does not mean a government comes after election is democratic because it depends on the transparency and credibility of election. The harsh reality is we have never ever seen democracy in Pakistan. Our democracies never fulfilled the requirements of real democracy. It always been used to personal benefits and interests of specific groups and we can name such system as civil dictatorship. I don’t say democracy is not good. Its undoubtedly the most civilized political system of current era if present 100% in working condition. Not like that people choose 342 candidates for national legislature and those 342 candidates unanimously choose a disliked person as a head of state.

Tell me how 342 members are representing the nation? How they are the voice of country? So major steps are to be taken yet to bring the real democracy. Steps like transparency in whole system, educating people, terminate racism, equal rights and benefits from government for everyone and easy justice for all.

Leadership Call!

When I switch my tv to a news channel, it alarms me about near future of this so called democracy. Why media should not shout on government? Government gave a perfect plan of incompetence and fail governance under the umbrella of fake democracy. I don’t say President Zardari or PM Gilani is not democracy and replace them with Sharif or some other. Democracy should be for everyone. I understand democracy as a system which has equal likes and dislikes for a landlord and a farmer from governing body. Democracy should be in system. For God sake don’t name political parties as an ambassador of democracy. No political party of current system (government and opposition) seems to be democratic.

Pakistani soil is demanding a realistic national revival. Politicians must forecast the upcoming situation and move towards right direction. Otherwise people will start killing democracy believers with embarrassment due to politicians and yell of people will start demanding alternative power. Politicians should be afraid of that call’ of people who will not having political leadership but their own people to lead the country, you can say them dictators, military rulers or revolutionists whatever!

And people will take a breath with satisfaction and change the meanings of few words from Pakistani nation’s dictionary and those words would be ‘Democracy, Politicians, Parliament, and Government)

(Next post will be the sequel of this post regarding democracy and Pakistan)
